Grinding metal noise while turning in the front end of my vehicle, could this issue be a Bad Front Wheel bearing or bad front 4WD axle?

I hear this grinding metal noise while turning in the front end of my vehicle when in Auto mode of my explorer 4WD. I’m not sure if it is the driver’s side wheel bearing or the whole 4WD front axle that is going bad. My check engine light is on, and the cruise control will not engage, so not sure if this has something to do with the 4WD system not working correctly or if it is just a bad wheel bearing on the front driver's side. What do you think is bad, so I know what to tell my mechanic to fix, etc.

It is common for this vehicle to make this noise when the front bearing hub goes out, here is a video of the job being done on a similar car with instructions below to help as well:

Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
