once you put the car in drive it moves for about 5 mins then stops. you have to wait for about 5 mins then the car would move and then stops. I decided to flush the automatic transmission system, after flushing the transmission car drove longer but stops. I could perceive burnt smell coming from the automatic gear box. should i change the filter..would that improve the transmission system.

please help

Your description sounds like it is time for a rebuild. The burnt smell is the reason, it leads me to suspect that the internal parts are damaged and new fluid and filter are not going to help. The time limit sounds like it is building enough heat from slipping that the transmission is then shutting down in response.
