2000 Audi A4 Engine light

2000 Audi A4 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic

when I started my car today a light came on the dash. It was a picture of the engine with a lightning blot thru it. The color of the light was yellow. Could you please tell me if the car is safe to drive and what is causing it? The only thing that's different is I put gas in my car late yesterday and forgot to put the gas cap back on.

Hi there,

There is a set fault code in the ECU, a scan will read this code and if you post it here I can do the diagnostics, if you have lost the fuel cap, go get another one as this may well be the reason the code has set, if you have one on, make suer its tight, and a temp cap will not do.
