I'm replacing the alternator and have all the electrical wires removed, removed the top and bottom mounting bolts and the alternator is ready to come out. I cannot seem to find a good way to get it out, it keeps getting stuck. I have the front passenger wheel removed and am trying to get the alternator out through there. Is this the way to get it out? There's not much room anywhere else.

Yes, sometimes you will need to loosen the engine mount bolts and jack the engine up slightly to gain additional room for removal. Use a block of wood between the engine pan and the jack. Or I have seen people remove the CV axle to get the alternator out. Here are the instructions from the manual on how to do the job. This guide can help:

Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.

When you are trying to remove the alternator, are you trying to take it out the bottom of the vehicle?

If so, then I suspect that is the issue. This one needs to come out the side of the vehicle through the wheel well. There are a lot of videos on the internet of people removing connectors and harnesses that are in the way and you can do it as well. Clearly you would need to remember what you disconnected but it can be done. Lastly there are other people that get the alternator loose and then slide it over in front of the engine and remove it out the driver's side of the engine as there is more space over there.

If it were me, I would remove the fender well and remove it from the side but if you don't have a lift then this may be more difficult than removing the things that are above the alternator that are keeping you from getting it out. This may include the A/C line. I would not open that system, just loosen the line so you can move it around or you are going to have to fill your A/C system again.

Please see the info below. Thanks

I am trying to remove it through the wheel well, it just doesn't fit no matter how I position it. I removed the bracket that holds the alternator in place and still can't get it out.

That is interesting. Can you get a video of what you are looking at and that should help us determine what needs to be done to get this completed.

Thanks
