If you put the needle to a steady 40 mph the thing will buck. Not severely but enough so that you know something is wrong. A buck, hesitation, surge -- hard to tell because it happens so fast. Happens in a series of spurts.
Where you really feel it is when you're shifting through the gears. When you get to the higher side of second gear you'll get the bucking until you shift to third which will magically cure it. Then the same thing happens again at the higher end of third.
Now here's the deal. If I plug up the vacuum line going to the EGR valve with a pen the car runs beautifully. So I was thinking faulty EGR valve. Replaced the valve and the same damn crap.
So, I was thinking that I have it triangulated between when the problem occurs and it having something to do with the EGR.
Things I've replaced recently (many being switched over for free from another Cav less you think I'm crazy): fuel pressure regulator, crankshaft position sensor, fuel filter, plugs, wires.
What am I missing here?
