Temp gage and gas gage don't work
with the key OFF the gas gage reads 1/4 tank
(just Filled it). Temp gage stop working at the same time. With the key ON the gas gage goes all the way past Empty. Same with temp gage
Any Ideas?

Did you check the fuses? Check the interior fuse box.
If the oil pressure gauge works, that will rule out a bad ground.
Acording to the wiring diagram, there in nothing else in common with the two except a wiring harness under the hood below the brake cylinder and the side of the engine compartment. Check there for loose or damaged wiring.
Check these items and get back to the forum.

I've attached the wiring digram from the ford electrical manual for a 93 Explorer. The wire on the top is to the fuse box.
As you can see, there isn't much else other than a failure of the instrument panel or the 2 senders.
If your oil pressure gauge and voltmeter work, that would eliminate the cluster. You might be looking at checking the senders.
The temperature sensor is on top of the engine near the front.
The fuel pump sender is near the left rear wheel. I'm not sure of the exact location.
Good luck.
