99 Civic 141,000 temp guage

The temp guage is out. Shop says $100 to diagnose, more to fix.....I'm thinking a wire has poped off the engine some where.....where do I look? [/b]

There is a sensor by the radiator and there is one by the housing for the thermostat. Doubt wire popped off as they usually lock down so hard people get made at them until they figure out the system. Grab a manual for the car engine, cheap investment and an ohm meter, an other very cheap investment. You can now pull the temp sensor out and check it according to the book.

Diagnotic test showed temp sensor unit just under distributor is bad. So I'll have to pull dist. to reach the sensor to replace. shop also said solinoid for CTEC oil sending unit was bad....so with some work I'll have those dash lights out.

Seems difficult to find.....seems the VTEC solenoid is bad and the VTEC oil pressure switch is out.....I searched our host site and others....any ideas on parts for VTEC system??
