I did some checking and found out where the defrost mode actuator is located, it is working so that left out the vacuum issue, it did change from defrost to floor, I removed the dash cover around the radio and ac controls and reached in the duct on the right of the radio pushed the door open and got air flow, switched to defrost the door closed, switched to ac and the door stayed shut but the actuator pulled in which confirms there is vacuum present and it is working, here's the rub, when I reached in the duct to open the door to let airflow to the panel this time the door fell off and inside I'm guessing a busted hinge, that might explain the thunk noise I heard Friday on my way home from work, the door closed when I shut off the A/C and Saturday when I turned it back on the problem started, I am guessing I would have to pull the dash to access this issue, I might do that if I ever have to change the evaporator, as it is the heater core is bypassed, was when I got the truck and living in Florida I don't need it, for A/C I would pull the dash, let me know if there is a way to do it without pulling the whole fricking dash. Thanks, Kevin.
