1998 Acura Integra I cant open my hood?

I have not drivien my car for over a year and I went to jump start it because the battery is dead and I couldnt get my hood to open. I pulled the lever all the way up and it wont budge. Do I have to take it in somewhere (pain in the butt cause I would have to tow it) or can I do it myself at home? And how?

Try hitting the hood where the release is with the palm of your hand and then try opening it. You may also have a friend try to hit the release will you are pulling the hood release back and fourth.

If that doesn't work then the cable is either broken or really stuck. You may have to crawl underneath to see if you have access to the hood cable that way, then you can just pry on the lever and hood should pop.

I will see if I can figure it out today. Im pretty sure I will have to tow my car because it is pretty low and there is not a chance I can get under it without jacking it up. But Thank you very much.

Well try banging on the hood where the release is first. Usually this works.
