It sounds like you have a defective fuel pump, but we should run the codes to see what comes up. Here are two guides to help us see what's going on. Also, you should check the air filter for water damage or dirt.

This car has a high-pressure fuel pump as well which I have seen go bad, or the camshaft lobe that runs the HPFP goes flat. Here is the fuel pressure for the transfer pump.
Key ON Engine OFF (KOEO) 58.0 psi (400 kPa)
You can rent a fuel pressure gauge from the auto parts store for free or cheap in most cases. Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
