Hi,
I have to be honest, I think the system is low on freon. In 1991 and 1992 these vehicles incorporated a low A/C charge warning system. If a low charge is detected, the system will usually indicate it by the control head face blinking.
You should start by checking both the high and low side pressure of the system. You will need an A/C manifold gauge kit. Do this and let me know the readings and let me know the outside temperature when it was tested.
