So, I took my car to PepBoys to test the system.
They said it was the compressor, so I replaced it, vacuumed the system and recharged it and it still doesn't work it just blows hot air.

Hi,

When you turn the A/C on, do you hear the compressor engage? If you do, it could be an issue with the blend air door in the vehicle.

If it doesn't turn on, have you checked fuses and relays related to the compressor?

Let me know if the compressor comes on or not so I can better direct you.

Additionally, take a look through this link. You may find it helpful.

Let me know.

Hi,

If you hear it engage, I suspect the problem is in the vehicle. Under the dash, driver's side. near the center, you will see the HVAC box. There are cables that go to it from the control panel.

One of the cables is responsible for the air temperature that enters the vehicle. I have a feeling the cable is broken, out of adjustment, or disconnected.

I attached a pic below so you can see the item to look for. It's not a great pic, but you should be able to find it. Check the cable I highlighted. Change the requested temperature between hot and cold to make sure it moved the air mix damper lever. If it doesn't or if it is hardly moving, check for a possible reason.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

Was it only the compressor that was replaced? If there are other components, let me know what they are.

Also, I need to know both the low-pressure and high-pressure readings when the system is on.

Question: When the cable moves the damper, do you hear a door opening and closing?

Let me know.
