Hi,

Last year I replaced my compressor and the A/C worked fine for 2 months.

Then it started to not blow cold air anymore and I added some Freon, and it blew cold again but only for a few days.

I most likely have a leak.

I’m looking for the best possible way to detect the leak without costing me so expensive.

I suspect it may be the condenser is the issue but I’m not sure as no real test was performed.

Could I have some advice to detect the leak and to recharge properly afterwards? Of course if any repairs are required it will be done prior to the recharge.

Thank you

Hi,

It does sound like you have a leak. To locate one, there really aren't too many ways to do it. They make special tools that can actually sense/sniff out a leak or you can use a dye in the system.

Do me a favor, take a look through this, and let me know if it helps:

Also, here is a link that covers A/C leak questions from others. You may find it helpful as well.

Let me know if you have questions and what I can do to help.

Take care,

Joe
