Replacing the A/C compressor do I need to add more oil?

If I am only replacing the ac compressor do I need to add more oil to the system? Or just make sure the compressor has the proper amount. I know it takes 4oz and I know the system should have the other 7oz. Was just wanting to know what to do.

If no oil has leaked out, you are okay with the compressor oil that is included in the unit. Remember that too much oil will cause the system to make noise and not cool as well. Here is a video to help you recharge the system and I have included instructions on how to change the A/C compressor out correctly:
