Changed hub and sensor, wiring under scuttle panel was damaged (repaired now) live data on diagnostic machine shows speed for all four sensors, car drives OK bit sluggish, new ABS pump fitted and ECU was sent to be tested and no faults were found. Have taken car to Vauxhall and they couldn't reset light. Running out of options any help is most appreciated.

Hi,

Please understand, this model isn't offered in the US, so my manuals have no information on it. However, I will try my best to help.

Does the light come on as soon as the key is turned to the run position? Is there any possibility that when doing the repairs, a short to power may have occurred causing the light to remain on?

When you use live data and see there is a speed signal from each wheel, are they the same speeds?

Has the shop scanned the can-bus to see if there are codes in a different module?

Here is a link explaining what I'm referring to:

Let me know.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me and yes, we used diagnostics to scan for codes, still won't delete codes, live data picks and recognizes each sensor and speed for every wheel, same code every time (c0035) front left speed sensor ecu has been tested and has no fault. I have been informed that the main dealer ABS sensor may help, but I am doubtful. Any further information? New hub, sensor and ABS pump have been fitted?

Hi,

If the hub, sensor, and ABS pump have been replaced and you see a speed signal from it that is equal to the other wheels, the wiring is good along with the parts you replaced. That leaves the ABS module itself.

Please understand that I'm not familiar with this model vehicle. However, most of the vehicles operate under the same principles. If I had done everything you mentioned and had a good speed signal, the only thing left would be the ABS module.

Let me know.

The ABS module is the ABS pump is it not? Even master tech at Vauxhall has been left baffled and confused? I feel that I'd just be throwing money at it, but one dealership has offered a part ex amount regardless of the lights on. So, I may take year option.

Hi,

An ABS module is basically a computer. It's a microprocessor that controls the function of a circuit. In this case, it would be the brakes and traction control.

The pump is different. When the ABS is actuated, there are valves that release pressure (per the module's request) to prevent skidding. The pump then restores the loss in pressure to the hydraulic brakes after the hydraulic valves have released it.

I wish I had the information in front of me for this vehicle. It would make things much easier for me to direct you.

Let me know.
