The floor inside my beetle convertible is raised underneath my drivers seat and also passenger seat is this caused from the impact? Also, the hood will not go down fully as the head rests stop the hood from going down which never used too. It is as though it has gone out of line. Also, the window buttons which are plastic are all cracked from the impact.

Your insurance company should be your first stop. They will then tell you how to proceed. It sounds like you will need to get that car checked by a collision shop. There are numerous crumple zones and crush areas that could have been impacted by even minor impacts. It takes an inspection and measuring to determine what was damaged and how bad. From your description it sounds as if the chassis has buckled some, if so it may be a total loss depending on how bad it really is.

Thank you. I will write to them, but what do you mean by a total loss?

If the car is damaged to the point that repairing it properly is going to cost more than the car is actually worth they will simply write a check and tell you to get a different car. The one you have will go to auction as a parts car.

That is why they will have a shop look it over. It may need minor work or major, but it has to be looked at first. I would just call them and see what they tell you to do.

Steve this crash happened on 13.1.14 is it to late to call them? I am fed up at the minute because the electric windows are catching and stopping half way down then I am not sure they are going to go back up. And I am sure this is from the impact too. I just feel little things are not right and have not been right I do not even think they checked the front when the car from behind shunted me into the car in front as there is a dent in the front bonnet wen it happened and it is still there. Thank you for your help.

It probably is too late unless you filed a report then and now you are having problems. Not sure how that works there. I know in my area you need to call it in and show a police report to get results. But a phone call to them should sort it out. Good luck.
