My vehicle's air conditioner is acting funny and its two-part with separate issues (I think).

1. Front blend door actuator is clicking intermittently, but I am not sure which one it is as there are 3-4 (I think). The air conditioner is dual climate controlled which means there is one for each side (2), one to control floor and defrost (3) and one main (4). Is this assumption correct? If so, the temperature seems to be even on both sides of the vehicle and the defrost/floor setting does not seem to trigger the clicking. I am going to pull out front console and radio to gain access and verify which is clicking and replace it.

2. Rear air not blowing at all on any temperature setting. The rear fan controls (in the front and in back) do not engage the rear blower at all. No air comes out regardless of the temperature or fan setting. Would this be caused by a resistor or more likely is it a blower motor? How would I be able to tell which one is the culprit? The other challenge I have is that I do not know where the blower for the rear is located. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Yes, the ticking noise is one of the blend door actuators, here is a guide that gives you an idea on how to replace it.

Also, for the rear air here is a diagram you must use a test light to see if the blower is getting power if not it needs replacing.

Let me know what you find.

Best, Ken

So, problems are fixed. Front clicking was main actuator, I started with that one because I assumed that problems with the left or right would present themselves on one side or the other and since I didn't notice a difference between the two I went main.

Second problem was the auxillary blower. I removed the passenger rear panel and after removing 3 star screws and the electrical connectors, replaced it and now it blows like a charm! Thanks!
