Replaced compressor, dryer, orifice tube. Evacuated system charged with approximately 41 oz. R-134. Compressor did not start. Checked fuses and found HVAC fuse under hood ten amps blown. Replaced fuse and it blew again. Checked all wires at compressor and did not see anything crushed or damaged. Help!
Where do I start to diagnose?
Thank you, Al

There are two fusses for A/C which one is it? Both are 10 amps ignition or A/C compressor? You have a short or something is drawing to many amps we need to know which fuse it is.

Then the compressor is drawing too many amps through the clutch or the green wire leading to compressor is shorted or pinched someplace. It can also be a poor contact in fuse box. Or a bad ground.

Found the problem You were absolutely correct. The wire from the compressor was crushed by the clamp holding the wire to the compressor. I removed the clamp (which the corner dug into the wire causing the short) and positioned it correctly over wires.
Hooked up all the connectors replaced the fuse and started up the A/C.
Yea. It works
Thank you for your quick response and most accurate solution
