Hi,
Most likely you are on the right path. You most likely are low on freon because you have a leak.
The best place to start is to get a two gauge set and test your pressures. I attached a chart that will help point us in the right direction depending on what you find with the pressure. Once we confirm it is low then refer to these guides on how to find a leak in your AC system. Once we find where it is leaking from, I can send you repair instructions on that component.
However, first thing is to get the pressure. Feel free to just go step by step with me so if you get those, send them over and I can get you the next step especially if you don't think they are low. Thanks
