The power window for my front passenger window works perfect when controlling (up or down) from the front passenger door controls, however, when I try to control from drivers side, I can get window to roll down, but the up function does nothing (no noise and appears that there is some sort of disconnect). It is inconvenient because we always have to use the front passenger door control to get window to roll back up (it's a pain when I am driving by myself). I am thinking this is an issue with the drivers side main control panel switch or relay or maybe the contacts, but maybe I just need to do a default reset if that is applicable (car battery was changed recently). If it is a switch or relay, can you please let me know how to change and which one. Thank you! Steve

It 's probably the master switch because you don't use the one touch down feature with passenger operation. I'd have a pro check it first however it may be just the switch

Driver side window will not come back up, how can I get it back up, untill I can take it to the shop. I suspect that the switch is bad.

The power window switch located on the driver side rear door panel does not work completely. I can get the window to lower, but it will not close using this switch. However, I can raise the window by using the main window controls located on the driver door panel. It don't think it's a motor problem because of this. Could it be a wiring or a fuse problem that will not allow the window to be raised by the switch on the rear driver-side door?

Merlin. Thanks for the reply. I pulled the switch out to clean and inspect it. There wasn't anything mechanically wrong with it from what I could see. After I re-connected the switch without putting the panel back on, it would actually work sparingly. I don't think it was anything I did, rather just continuing to press the button. Is this a part that I can order from a Ford dealership or a local parts store?

Interior lights and running board light along with power windows stopped working. Traced to fuse #14 replaced and it blows right away. Sunroof is not working either, stuck open position.

Sunroof is probably the switch. Make sure it is receiving and passing power. Make sure fuse #14 is receiving power. Here is a guide to help you test it.

Please run down this guide and report back.

There will be a few plugs on the door panel that hide screws, especially on the door handle. If there are no screws around the edge then the panel will pop off the door. If you start at the bottom you will be able to see under it for the clips. Try to help the panel off by prying next to the clips with a long screwdriver unless you want o buy a panel trim tool.

Ford has a lot of trouble with windshield leaks that drip water onto the GEM module on the left side of the dash. That applies to the pickup trucks but it's worth considering on your vehicle too.

My window is in the down position and the motor is burned out. I bought a replacement motor for the window, however, the clearance between the motor and the window is so tight I can barely fit my hand in there to remove it. Is there a way to raise the window so I am able to replace the motor?

Not without removing the track or the motor. Are you sure the motor is bad? Have you made sure there is power to it when you try to put it up? Also, the OEM motor should be rivited to the door. If you remove the rivits, the motor will move and you then can raise the window. (NOTE: I can't remember if there is a coil type spring that can come undone on your year, so be aware of that possibility.)

LEt me know.

Joe
