I have the car listed above GT model, 3.5 Liter V6. I'm trying to figure out does this model come with a timing chain or a timing belt. I'm wondering this because the car is over 100,000 miles and wanted to change it

I just had the timing belt, water pump, and catalytic converter replaced on my car about six weeks ago, and my transmission just blew. I'm wondering, could it be related to a bad repair job?

How long have you driven it since the repair?

Why do you think it is related?

It has gone about 200 miles since the repair. It started jerking a bit while shifting about two to three weeks ago. I just haven't had time to take it in and get it checked, and now I'll need a tow.
Honestly, I'm just asking if it could be related. My wife thinks they broke it on purpose (she's highly auspicious of mechanics) so I'm just wondering if it's even a possibility that bad timing belt job could affect the transmission.

No, as there was nothing done to the transmission with that operation.

There are still a good group of guys that are out there that are honest.

You have a timing chain. I don't have mileage spec for timing chain.

You could do a timing chain inspection, that is up to you.

Just to add, I don't know litre size of engine?
Inspection.
Inspect the timing chain guide for cracking or wear.
Replace timing chain guides if wear exceeds.O45 inch depth on timing chain guide surface.
Inspect the timing chain tensioner shoe for wear. Replace if wear exceeds.045 inch depth on the chain guide surface.
Inspect the timing chain and actuators for wear.
Inspect the camshaft actuator faces for signs of movement.
Inspect the camshaft actuator teeth and chain for signs of excessive wear, chipping, or seizure of timing chain links.
Inspect the oil nozzle body for collapse or cracks at the bolt boss. Discard and replace the oil nozzle body if damaged.
Verify oil nozzle oil flow with compressed air.
Inspect the timing chain tensioner for scoring or free movement.
Inspect the timing chain tensioner wash er and o-ring for damage.
If damaged, replace timing chain tensioner.
