i have a ponatic g6 and we put in an engine restore in it tonight to help it and nothing happened then all of a sudden at 1130pm the check engine light came on will an oil change and flushing the system help

What's an "engine restore"? What did you expect to happen? What kind of problem or symptom are you trying to solve? When the Check Engine light turns on it means the Engine Computer detected a problem, set a diagnostic fault code, and turned the light on to tell you. Have the fault code(s) read. Many auto parts stores will do that for you for free. That will indicate the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis. An oil change won't take care of the Check Engine light.
