Replacing boots is not something that is commonly done any more. To replace it with a real boot can be an hour and a half if you can even find any place selling replacement boots. The price of remanufactured axles has dropped to the point that boots alone are obsolete. You can buy a whole axle for not much more than just a boot and 90% of the time, that is what you need anyway. The labor to replace an axle can vary but an average is one hour.
