My wifes van has gotten loud. At highway speeds it is very noisy, almost a grinding? And if we make a sweeping right turn at speed, it is louder. Left it gets quieter. I have recently done the brakes (within 5000km)
Any thoughts on where to start would be appreciated. Thank!

Noisy front wheel bearing. There's two ways to identify which one is bad. One is to jack the vehicle off the ground, reach over the top of a tire and wrap your fingertips over part of the coil spring, rotate the wheel by hand and feel for the roughness. My preferred method is to run the engine in gear on a hoist and listen next to each bearing with a stethoscope.

The problem with the bolt-on bearing assemblies is the sound can seem to be coming from a particular side but it can actually be transferring from the other side. The good news is if you replace the wrong one, the old one can be used on the other side.
