Nope todays converters aren't like the old ones. They have virtually no effect on power of your engine unless they are clogged.

Thank you, but will it affect my pulling power? If not there's something wrong with out a load I'm doin 2600 rpm @ 75 mph. I bought the truck w/o catalytic converter and was goin to install one to see if I got pullin power

If you are doing 2600 at 75 mph have your trans checked it may have lost overdrive, normally at that speed it should be 1800-2100 rpm.S installing a catalytic converter wont' hurt your pullin gpower at all. If you live in astate that has emiisions checking it won't pass also are all teh O2 sensors in this trucK. There should be 4
