I have 2008 Malibu with the same 3.6. Cannot remember the code, but came up as cam shaft sensor. Pulled the front sensor out it was broken. So I replaced it and as soon as you crank the engine it breaks the new sensor. Hand crank the the engine and you can watch and feel it binding up. What could cause this or are there shims for the sensors?

I'm trying to figure out what I need to replace. Getting 4 codes. I bought a cam sensor and plan on buying the other 3 to replace all 4, but if its something else I would like to know. Here are the codes: P0014, P0016, P0011P, P0016P. Hope you can help me and tell me what all I need to replace.

These codes are to do with cam timing problems, known as Camshaft Position Correlation,
I would be thinking that you have a timing chain problem. When the chains start to stretch with age, you will get the cam timing coming out of position, not to the point of doing damage, but enough to start setting codes, check for timing chain stretch first.

This can be caused by low/dirty engine oil or a broken timing chain guide how does the engine sound? Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can hear the noise, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. The p0017 is for a correlation issue im not sure a sensor will take care of it. If you like to try its the sensor for bank1.

I will upload a video but basically engine sounds rough, when driving feels like it's losing power, I have a hard time starting it after putting gas in it. While driving sometimes it feels like it's misfiring and will kind of shutter and almost shake. But only last for a minute until I get accelerated.
