Hi,

It could be related to fuel pressure, but have you checked to see if there are diagnostic trouble codes stored in the computer? The idea that you have to turn the key fully off before it will restart for a couple of seconds sounds more like an electrical issue.

IF you haven't scanned it, that is where I would start. I would recommend having the CAN bus system scanned. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, several modules/computers are tied together via a few wires. Here is a video showing how that is done:

If nothing is found, then I would suggest checking fuel pressure. Here is a link that explains how that is done in general:

Here are the manufacturer's specs for fuel pressure:

FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

400 kpa ± 34 kpa (58 psi ± 5 psi)

One other thought is there could be an issue with the fuel pump relay. Try switching it with another relay having the same part number to see if that makes a difference. If there isn't one, here is a link that explains how to test a relay. The relay is located in the under hood power distribution box. See pic 1 for location.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

This does sound like a fuel issue so we need to start with checking the fuel pressure and go from there. When you cycle the key it pressurizes the fuel system again as it runs the pump.

Let's start with checking for codes just to make sure there are not any.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

Also, can you confirm the theft light is not remaining on? If it is then we have a theft issue.

So if it is not continuing to run the pump then we need to check voltage at the pump and make sure the PCM is not cutting power to it. If it is not then the pump is failing.

We need to start with pressure and go from there.

I scanned for codes these came up.
#1 srs B212D ignition run only input- circuit open.
#2 U1415 implausible/ missing data
#3 U1414 implausible/ missing control unit network
#4 P0706 transmission range sensor
I definitely don't know were to start. Thanks for your input and time.

We may have more than one issue but the place to start based on this turning the key and it doesn't run is the B212D code. That is an ignition run circuit issue.

I am attaching the info on this code for you to run through. Please let us know if you have questions on this and we can work through it.

Thanks
