Use a gauge and check fuel pressure, engine cranking. Check for voltage and ground at fuel pump connector, engine cranking. Gray wire is voltage, black is ground. Take connector loose, use test lite between gray wire terminal and black wire terminal, engine cranking, anything, does the lite come on? If good voltage and ground for pump motor and no pump action, suspect the pump.
My hearing is no good, can't hear initial prime anyway. Engine cranking, I certainly can't hear the pump. I have to use a gauge.
