I have 2006 volkswagen jetta 1.9 diesel, and on a trip I put the pedal down , and passed a car on the highway, and the car started to knock, and lost power. I checked the compression and all is good there, I was wondering if it could be a clogged cat.converter or a hose clogged?

I would get a diagnostic scan done, there may be a problem in the fuel delivery system, If diesels over fuel they can suffer from engine knock that can do serious damage, to the point of cracking pistons, get this check asap.
