I have a 2006 Scion TC the stock rims are 17x7. I was wondering if I could take the rims off my 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse 14x5.5 rims and turn them into a set of winter rims/tires for my Scion TC.

This is the first car I have had low profile tires on it 215/45-17 and I am having a huge problem in the snow and feel very uncomfortable. My 1999 Eclipse GS - Manual Transmission I never had a problem in the snow and never felt uncomfortable driving it in the snow. The 06 Scion TC makes me very uncomfortable when driving it in the snow.

It doesn't sound like they will fit. The diameter is different and most likely the bolt pattern is different too. I recommend that you stay with the OEM size and get a good set of winter tires. There are many good snow and ice tires available.
