Could a fuel pump be the result of an accident

My car was involved in an accident where the gas tank was hit. After 7 weeks of trying to get my car fixed like it was before the mechanics are telling me that my fuel pump is out and that it's from normal wear and tear. Hard for me to believe. I've never had any problems before and really think something happened in the accident. The axle underneath it was bent and my car is still running very rough.

It's not uncommon for a collision to ruin a fuel pump but the damage is instant, total and permanent. It won't cause a slow or partial failure.

My car is running, however, it feels like the emergency brake is on or something is going on with the transmission also. My car was hit once, he backed up, put it in drive and hit it again so hard 3 of 4 wheels were pushed over the curb.

Looking at the damage to your Jeep but not able to see under it check the emergence brake cable to see if it has any kinks in it from the cable and line. check the axle to see if a bracket is broken or bent.
