As I was driving last, I noticed the door open light in the centre of the dash consol was flickering on and off. When I stoped the car it sayed on even though I checked all doors were closed. Over night this has drained the battery. What is the best way to check the wiring or is it possible to disconnect the sensor altogether?

Have you checked the switches on the doors? It sounds like one has gone bad and is turning the light on. You will need to check to see if they switches are allowing power to pass through them when they are in the closed position,
