My car starts squealling a few minutes after driving it, how can I tell if it is the serpentine belt or the bearings in the alternator? If it is the bearings is their anything I can do until I can get another one next Tuesday?

First, make sure the belt is tight. It should have no more than 3/4 inch play. If there is more, the tensionier is most likely bad. If it is tight, remove the belt and spin all the accessories to see if you can hear a bad bearing or something that is locking up and doesn't want to spin.
