ENGINE RUNNING A LITTLE HOT

My friends envoy is running at 200+ , shouldn't it be around 190-195

The normal operating fot the thermostat range is between 188 to 206 degrees so it is within specs. The range might vary and if it is staying on the upper end under most conditions, it is an indication the cooling system might have something that requires attention.

It could be the coolant level, thermostat or the cooling fans.
