I was driving home last night, and suddenly my car started revving it's engine like it was in neutral. The car rolled to a stop. I tried reverse and that didn't work either. There were no warning signs of transmission trouble prior to this. I haven't had a chance to check fluid yet, but could this just be low fluid? Or some other part failing?
Thanks in advance for your response.

it could be either the transmission has failed or low on fluid or both however you should check the fluid level and condition (smell if it is burnt). I would flush the transmission which should help. Here is a generic guide to help you step by step with instructions in the diagrams below to show you how on your car.
