Last Sunday my car worked perfectly. My boyfriend went to start it Monday during the polar vortex and it just made this loud clicking sound repeatedly but wouldn't turn over. We tried jumping it Wednesday and it started to turn over but still wouldn't start. We disconnected the battery and reconnected it to see if it just wasn't recognizing the keys and now when you try to start it it just makes a single click. The radio and my lights still come on but nothing else happens. We checked the battery and it has a full charge and also checked the spark plugs and fuses.

The first thing you need to do is have the battery tested. It's probably bad.

Shouldn't the engine still turn over with a 50 amp starter charger hooked up? Could it be the starter has gone bad?
