2006 Daihatsu Terios My won't start !

My Daihatsu Terios developed a noise for about 5 days, on the 5th day I drove it and after a short distance the engine became silent I had no accelerator and my gears seemed to have malfunctioned. I manage to freewheel off a busy and road, I switched the engine off, about 2 hours later it was towed home and it would the engine would not swing over to start.

Have you checked to see if there is proper fuel pressure to the engine as well as if there is good spark to the plugs? Did the check engine light come on when this was happening?
