2006 Citroen C3 Car keeps cutting out

My car keeps cutting out while driving and no lights come up on the dash board. I feel the lose of control over the car, but after a few seconds I press down on the accelerator and it revives itself. I looked under the hood and it seems a pipe tie was loose and I was wondering if this was the cause or if it could be something else

Assuming that this vehicle has a gasoline (petrol) engine you should have the ignition system checked. You can do a visual inspection of the ignition coils and wires yourself. The problem could be caused by a spark plug or ignition coil breaking down under load; or a loose electrical connection in the ignition system.
