Van just shut down while driving down the highway. The lights on dash still on. Vehicle has fuel. It would not restart. I have checked the fuses, belts, crankshaft, battery, and checked for spark. What would cause it do this? I have also had a computer code come back with codes that only relate to fans near the radiator. The van was not overheating.

Do you have spark or not? You only said you checked? Did you check for fuel pressure?

Yes, there was spark. We also just tried to get a code from it by turning it off/on 3 times. The light flashed 10 times. But no code came up.

'96 and newer vehicles show the three-digit fault codes in the odometer display.

Since you still have spark, most of the circuitry is working, leaving just the fuel pump. That is relatively rare. GM fuel pumps typically fail while driving, leaving you stranded on the side of the highway. Chrysler fuel pumps almost never do that. They fail to start up when you start the engine, but once they DO start up, they will continue to run until the next time you stop the engine.

Regardless of what's typical, listen for the hum of the fuel pump when you turn the ignition switch to "run". You should hear it run for one second. There's also a test port on the fuel rail on the engine. You'll need a gauge to get an accurate reading. Normal is around 50 psi. If you're missing fuel pressure or injector pulses, the engine will run briefly with a squirt of starting fluid.
