Steering wheel shaking at average highway speeds

After having my car realigned I noticed that while driving at around 45 mph my steering wheel and the rest of the car would shake. Granted this isnt making any obnoxious noises or shaking so violently that it makes it any more difficult to control. Could a simple tire balance be the solution to this problem?

Tire balance is not the problem at such a low speed. Suspect a broken tire belt or bent wheel. Other things can cause a shake in the steering wheel right after other repairs were performed to the brake system. We can eliminate those things if no brake work was done recently.
