Hello
I have a 2005 Nissan xterra and the front driver side window is not doing anything. All the other window are moving. I was wondering is there is more then one fuse for the windows. If not can you tell me how to fix this.

If the other windows work from the driver's switch, we can assume the wiring is okay. That leaves the driver's switch, the window motor, and the regulator. If you see the interior lights dim slightly when you activate the window switch, that's a clue the switch is working and the motor is trying to run. A common failure is the steel wire on the regulator is tangled or broken. You might hear a little sound from the motor too.

Some of the electrical tests can be done right from the switch connector if you can remove it from the door panel. If the door panel has to come off, it's often just as easy to test the voltage right at the window motor connector. Based on what you find for voltage determines which way to go next.

I should have included this too. I hope you can figure this out. They tell you what to do but not how to do it. Pop clips are pried out with a special forked tool. You can use a screwdriver, but do it carefully so the door panel doesn't crack around those clips. If a clip just pops off the panel, it can be pulled out later and slid back into place. If you break a clip, body shops and the dealer have new ones, or you can find some at a salvage yard. Once you have all the screws and clips removed, the panel usually has to be lifted up an inch or two. The top is wrapped over the door by the window.

Once you get the panel off, there will be a plastic sheet stuck to the door for a water shield. Be sure to stick that back on with no gaps at the bottom. That keeps rain water from running inside the passenger compartment.

DOOR FINISHER > REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION > FRONT DOOR > REMOVAL

Remove window crank handle or power window switch assembly (if equipped).
Disconnect harness connectors.
Remove pull handle escutcheon.
Remove pull handle cover and remove screw.
Lift armrest upward to release clips and remove armrest.
Remove front door finisher screws behind armrest.
Release clips and remove front door finisher.
Disconnect lock cable and handle cable from pull handle/lock lever assembly. Refer to "FRONT DOOR LOCK ".
