Just had my car in the shop for inspection and oil change. The auto shop said they did an oil change. I just drove my car for two weeks and engine light came on so I checked the oil and it was not even showing on the oil stick. They FORGOT to put the oil back in. I drove to the shore this weekend - 3 hours each way. Did not having that oil damage my engine???

running 3qts low on oil does no good. I can't imagine them not putting oil in the car it would have given you problems almost right away. Check for oil burning or a massive leak around oil filter or oil pressure switch.

Thanks for getting back to me. The engine light came on 2 days after the inspection and I didn't check the oil since I knew it had just been changed. I am going back to the shop to see if there is a leak but I would have seen oil in my driveway right???

you should have seen oil but there should be oil on car engine compartment or under it if it's leaks. Hard to believe that you have gone 60 miles with no damage however.
