Can a windshield wiper reservoir get damage during a simple oil change?

I had the oil changed yesterday and they told me that the reservoir must have a crack in it. New to me!!!

I dont see how it could be damaged during a oil change doesnt make sense.Unless it got craked somehow when they topped off the fluid.

An inspection of the damage should tell you if it is fresh. It can also tell you if it is due to meterial fatigue.

If a floor jack is placed at the wrong place while lifting up it can crack it.
