About 5 months ago, I started to hear a clanking noise (metal) in the front end of my car. I brought my car to a mechanic and he stated that both ball joint boots were torn and debris had gotten inside. I had both ball joints replaced. The noise continued after the ball joints were replaced so I brought the car back and was told I had a broken motor mount. I had the motor mount replaced. The clunking sound is gone but I am still hearing some scrunching sounds in the front end every time I run over a rough service or bump in the road. Yesterday, an auto body man noticed my struts which are at the top back left and right side of the engine and visible had been tampered with. He stated someone drilled holes in the plates and stated the spot welds were not re-welded. He stated it did not look correct and pointed out holes that had been drilled in the plates. I want to drive my car and not hear sounds of looseness. I want everything to be tight and mechanically sound in my front end. I would like your expertise on what you think this scrunching sound is that I hear in the front end of my car.
Thank you for your assistance.
