Wife is having trouble with 2005 santa fe 2.7 L. Says engine is pulling and RPMs are high. Happens sporadicly and I can't get problem to repeat when I drive. Checked accelerator cables. No binding or visible wear. Had friend who has shop put on computer. No codes or issues. Could this be a throttle position sensor issue? If so, can these be replaced separately? They are available through Hyundai and aftermarket, but have also been told that entire throttle body needs to be replaced. Any insight would be great

Even if the engine is pulling and the RPMs get higher, if it is a manual transmission it could be the clutch slipping. The thotlle sensor or the crankshaft position sensor or camshaft positon sensor could be bad. Whatever it is you should wait until it fails enough to throw a code. The check engine llight does not need to come on to have a code present. So check codes often as the failing part will get out of the threshold to where it thows a code but does not throw the CEL.
