My impala has a random miss, ideals fine but stopping at a traffic light will sometimes shut off. Also does this going down the highway but doesn't kill the engine. Random. 2005 impala 3.8 95000 miles. Any ideas?

When was the last tune up? Have you checked fuel pump pressure? What codes are in the computer?

I had the same issue with mine.05 impala base 93k+ miles on it. I too it to the repair shot and got the fuel regulator replaced and problem solved. I posted the similar question here and received the same answer.

My question :
1) I have hard time starting the engine ! It doesn't start atleast until 4-5 times starting it. I took to mechanic and said that it was pretty old car and just put leg on gas pedal and it would start righjt away.

2) During signal, I stop, car is in drive and my leg on brake. Car vibrates a little and stops ! I have to restart and keep accel; arting to keep it on.

3) When in drive and no accelaration and no brakes, car should move forward right !But mine doesn't. It vibrates and engine stops. Gears DO NOT shift to neutral but engine stops !

Answer to my question:
Try cleaning throttle plate and iac hole with choke cleaner then check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it.

Fuel pressure regulator can cause the problem. That's why I asked if pressure was checked. Also, the IAC can cause idle issues and carbon on the throttle plate can also cause it. I need to know what has been done to this point before I can continue with my answer.
