Have a 2004 S80 T6 Volvo right headlight out some #'s from head light assembly are 30655953 ProJP23-us-D-Lad/us DOT SAE IP00 89008878 05H51-27/08 Volvo dealership says it may be the balast and that the bulbs should never burn out. That is 200 miles away. Found a local person who ordered out a used HID ballast and a new xeon bulb however not satisfied with bulb as it is totally a different color a yellow compared to the driverside and not as strong a light luimation wise. What would you advise $400.00 is too much not to be satisfied.

Bulbs do burn out on this vehicles. Quick check to see if it was a bulb or a balast is to swap the bulbs. If same one is out then balast is out. If the bulb is out on the other side then the bulb was bad. Now as for color, there was a change in colors for the bulbs so you would need to replace both bulbs so that the colors match.
