My 2004 Toyota Corolla's trunk would not close..the lock assembly was malfunctioning..a mechanic looked at it and fixed it to where the trunk would latch..I ordered a new assembly for it and when it arrived...I went to put it on and the trunk will not open...pulling the lever next to the driver's seat does nothing..my key to the trunk will not go into the lock all the way so this has done nothing to help...is there anyway possible to access the trunk? or am I just stuck with a car that has a non-working trunk?

With this vehicle, you only have a couple ways. First, try libericating the key tumbler to see if it will allow the key to enter. If that doesn't work, you will either need to contact a lock smith or you could drill the old tumbler out and remove it so you can access the release.
