04 Saturn Vue. Help! Please

Hello, I'm a single mother and need my vehicle for work. I have a 04 2.2 Double cam Saturn Vue with a bad tranny. I've heard that the CVT tranny from this vehicle can be swap with a conventional automatic shifting tranny. I;ve heard that the computer and wiring harness also have to be changed. My question is, What other cars can the tranny be switched from. I can't afford to buy a new car and don't want to put in the same piece of crap transmission. Thanks in advance for any help.

AS far as I know I haven't heard of a transmission swap option for the vue vti transmission's.I just checked the transmission bulletin's for saturn nothing there. If there was a transmission you could swap it would involve a lot of part's and labor new computer or computer's engine harness possibly under fuse box mount's if the new mount's would even bolt up.I can't tell you for sure if there is or isn't.I can tell you it probably wouldn't be cost effective though.I have heard of people removing the vti transmission and putting in the manual transmission the vue's came with. But again a lot to change and cost effective?
