How long does it take to repair/change out a thermistor?

Took van to auto repair, they said it would take 2 hours now
they say they have to take off the complete dash and it will
take 8 hours to fix. It this true? I know the thermistor is
located on the evaporator and can be tested by taking out the glovebox.
Why will it take 8 hours to repair?

You have to remove the heater box with the evap to replace.

Yes, it is about 8 hours with the evac and charge
